MoovIT GmbH wins WDR Contract for Cross-Media Production Platform (CPP)

MoovIT GmbH has been awarded a contract by Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) following a public tender to develop a networked cross-media production platform (CPP). The new platform will serve as a central hub for the production of content for television, radio, and digital offerings, thereby supporting WDR’s cross-media strategy across all distribution channels.

Together, we are laying the groundwork for interconnected, future-proof production workflows

The CPP enables the production, editing, and delivery of video, audio, and image content within a seamless, media-neutral workflow. Editorial teams can centrally review, listen to, compile, share, and enrich content with metadata—and, in the future, with AI support.
Production processes are streamlined, coordination is accelerated, and duplicate editing is reduced. The goal: to make content available faster, more efficiently, and more flexibly to people in North Rhine-Westphalia and beyond.

With the new platform, existing production systems are gradually consolidated and merged into a scalable, future-proof infrastructure. This reduces complexity in the system landscape, facilitates cross-departmental collaboration, and lays the foundation for further digital innovation.

In this project, MoovIT is serving as the general contractor for the planning, design, installation, configuration, commissioning, and documentation of the entire system, bringing to the project its many years of experience in implementing complex media and IT workflows.
